Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based treatment approach that helps people develop a more meaningful relationship with their emotions. According to EFT, the depth of emotional experiences needs to be sufficiently explored and processed to achieve clarity and meaningful progress in therapy. The rich and nuanced meanings behind each emotional experience are usually thwarted due to difficult life experiences and insufficient emotion regulation capacities. EFT has been found to be effective at addressing various psychological concerns, including depression, stress, eating disorders, PTSD, grief, anger, and shame. My approach is to help people become more attuned to their emotional needs and gain the mastery to metabolize difficult emotional experiences.
