I started treating individuals with depression, anxiety, and general stress (subclinical depression and anxiety symptoms) during my internship at the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services. I gained valuable research experience in understanding the etiology and contributing factors to depression and anxiety at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics.
My approach to treating depression and anxiety incorporates CBT, DBT, and EFT to target maladaptive cognition, emotion dysregulation, and transform emotional experiences (e.g., hopelessness), along with implementing various behavioral strategies to mitigate psychological symptoms.
